Frank Mizen

Crafting music for Film, TV & Advertising

The story behind the sound

Frank Mizen’s musical adventure started with a harmonica at the age of four. Soon after, he went bigger — brandishing a trombone around his home. Later still, after Royal College, his attention shifted to stringed instruments and he found his way to the bass and session recording. He also knows his way around the lap steel guitar and ukulele. Beyond playing, Frank’s been writing music for television for more than two decades, producing tracks for everything from Jungle Run and Adam’s Family Tree to Stardate, Fat Friends, and Junkyard Wars. Frank loaned his pedal steel, banjo, and bass talents to 1970s progressive rock band Wally for their reunion, playing to a sold-out crowd in their hometown of Harrogate in 2009.
