The story behind the sound

Lola Rice is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. Spending her childhood in Seattle, she attended music school at UCLA, where she began recording demos in her bedroom. Since then, she has released five singles to critical acclaim in the underground indie scene, and has amassed 350k streams on Spotify alone. Her first single, which was self-produced, was featured in the short film Gayish, which went on to win best soundtrack at the Los Angeles LGBTQ+ International Film Festival. Lola has developed a tight-knit community of DIY artists and musicians in Los Angeles, where you can find her playing packed live shows; incorporating a diverse range of genres from indie pop to punk rock, her songwriting unpacks love, loss, and the absurdity of the human condition.
