Mark Allaway

Crafting music for Film, TV & Advertising

The story behind the sound

Mark Allaway’s performing career started with saxophone quartet Itchy Fingers, a natural evolution for Mark who studied saxophone, composition, and arranging at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After a period of session work for film and television, Mark decided to shift his focus to composition. His score work graced award-winning West End play Singular Women and he has written music for various television projects, such as the French television documentary Sans Retour, and advertising campaigns for products including Harpic Power Plus. His score for Chasing Chekhov won the LA BAFTA for Best Short Film in 2008. His throwback songs lend whimsy to all imagery they accompany.
