Crafting music for Film, TV & Advertising

Chicagoan singer-songwriter traverses emotional borders with his multi-dimensional folk compositions

The story behind the sound

As befitting an artist who grew up consuming secular music in secret by necessity, the music Tim McNary makes now is all about exploring ideas of isolation and human connection. Channeling his experiences backpacking through the mountains, beaches and deserts of South America and sleeping rough on the streets of America’s deep south, the Chicago-born songwriter traverses emotional and geographical borders with multi-dimensional folk compositions featuring emotive vocals. Since sharing his debut EP ‘Above The Trees’ back in 2016, McNary has picked up comparisons to Gregory Alan Isakov, Glen Hansard, and Lord Huron, among others. With his full-length debut for Audio Network – the John Estes-engineered Loose Leaf – he proves he’s truly in a league of his own.
