Ill-Esha

Elysha Zaide, aka ill-esha, knows EDM. A pioneering voice in drum and bass, she was the first female D&B performer to mix records, sing, and MC at the same time. ill-esha backs her love for electronic music with formal piano training. Moving beyond her drum and bass beginnings, she released “Perfect Circuit,” a mix of electronica and synth pop, under her label Elysha Zaide Music. Shifting gears once again, she founded Glitch Hop Forum with Dewey db, pioneering that movement, as well as being part of RapperChicks, an all female rap group who have toured the world. Her constantly evolving musical style and instrumental skills led to her first scoring opportunity — a documentary for the National Film Board of Canada entitled “Beauty.” Ultimately, in all styles, authenticity is what matters most in her music.
