Julian Emery

Julian Emery’s world was shaped by music from a young age. With a classical orchestral percussionist for a father and a dancer for a mother, music was omnipresent. Beyond the music shared by his parents, his early influences included Rush, AC/DC, and Iron Maiden. He started as a session guitarist before segueing into songwriting, transforming his home studio into a proving ground. Julian produced the eponymous album for alt-rockers Nothing But Thieves, as well as albums for Airways and McFly and singles for Amazons and Sea Girls (BBC’s Ones To Watch 2019). Julian is also part of a three-headed songwriting team dubbed Collective and has helped shape songs for Lissie, Gavin Degraw, and Simple Plan, amongst others. His catalogue of composition is filled with alt-rock, heartland US rock, and electronic rock albums, all inspired by the best guitar bands the UK and America from the last fifteen years.
