The story behind the sound
Skylar Funk – or simply, Sky – is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music educator. The main writer and voice of Trapdoor Social (Pasadena Records), Sky is a prolific creator whose musical projects are as heartfelt as they are diverse. Branching into a career in education, in 2025 alone sky received a masters in Popular Music Teaching and Learning, started teaching Music Theory at LA County High School for the Arts, and applied for a Fulbright Scholar Award to Brazil (Funk speaks French, Spanish, Portuguese and more).
